If the stratum corneum is properly hydrated, the skin will be able to keep water and the skin barrier is built up. If you want to improve skin elasticity, you must know the importance of oil in the skincare routine. In fact, the stratum corneum is hydrophobic, so oil-based products are easier to be absorbed by the skin. The most ideal skincare routine for a balanced skin is to keep the skin hydrated with oil and water. Therefore, we suggest mixing oil with lotion. People with oily skin often think that they can’t use oil, so they would use toner for hydration. However, with only lotion or oil, the skin can’t lock in moisture and the situation of oil secretion goes worse. People with oily skin type should moisturize first then do oil control. This kind of light oil skincare can restore skin to its previous balanced state.

The imbalanced skin is a condition of skin rather than a skin type. You may have oily skin by nature, which is hard to change, but you can improve the imbalanced condition of a dry stratum corneum or hydrolipidic film by changing cleansing products or skincare routine.
If you wash your face too much, the surfactant in cleansers will affect the barrier function of the skin and the ability to keep water, which will lead to flaking and dry skin. We recommend Skin Purifying Cleansing Gel, a product that contains 100% natural ingredient. Its mild, acid formula can effectively take away light makeup and residue. Your skin won’t feel tight and dry after washing. We suggest using Lemon-scented Tea Tree Mattifying Facial Mask for oil control and Myrrh Detoxifying Facial Mask for hydration alternatively, the former can help keep the skin balanced and the later is to keep the skin hydrated. After the mask, you can use Frankincense Revitalizing Face Lotion and Frankincense Revitalizing Face Oil to trap moisture in your skin, build a stronger barrier to achieve a stable, balanced state.
Dimethicone is a common ingredient found in general cosmetics. It will form a layer on the skin that makes the skin smooth but blocks the ingredients from being absorbed. There’s no evidence showing that dimethicone is harmful to the skin, but we have found that many Inna girls who suffer from unbalanced skin use skin care products that contain dimethicone. It takes time (one to two months) for natural, organic skincare products to work and improves the condition of skin. If your skin is still dry while using our products, you can take our Face & Eye Cream or Face Oil with you and use them when needed (for those with primer, we suggest using Face Oil).

We recommend using Myrrh or Rose Geranium masks. Myrrh essential oil contains bisabolol, which protects the skin and Rose Geranium mask contains plant extracts that boost the skin. These are suitable for sensitive skin.
If you are prone to allergy, you can test our products partially. Our masks have passed a 24-hour patch test and no irritation caused by a consecutive use for a month clinically. However, we have added a good amount of essential oils in our masks and people may have different reactions to various essential oils based on different skin type. For example, some may be allergic to mint, that doesn’t mean that mint is harmful. It’s simply because this person is allergic to it. You can put a small amount of mask serum or do a patch test behind your ear to see if there’s any irritation. Some Inna Girls with a special skin condition or thinner skin barrier may encounter irritation. When it happens, you may choose to use a different mask or Face Lotion. We provide an unconditional full refund for items that cause irritation. Please contact our customer service and we are glad to be at your service.
If you have super sensitive skin, you can start with Face Lotion. Our products contain a good amount of essential oil, so we recommend Inna Girls with sensitive skin using Face Lotion first to restore the barrier of the skin. When the skin gets back to a healthy stage, you can provide it with nutrition using face masks.
From our experience, our customers have no issue with Myrrh masks, some prefer Rose Geranium masks or vice versa. It’s true that some Inna Girls have thin skin barrier and suffer from dehydration. Acne is caused by exuberant secretion of sebaceous glands and abnormal stratum corneum. If the stratum corneum is hydrated, the skin would have a stronger barrier and normal skin metabolism. Therefore, hydration and control oil secretion are keys to solve problems like acne.
If you have suffered from the acne-prone skin for a long time, we suggest you should seek a dermatologist for medical treatment. You can also use Skin Purifying Cleansing Gel that gently takes away extra oil and residue and light-textured Frankincense Revitalizing Face Lotion that moisturizes your skin. The date of production is printed on every package of our product. The shelf life for products bought from our website is at least one year. Cosmetic products are mostly petrochemicals and so does general makeup removers. That’s why they can take off cosmetics. Skin Purifying Cleansing Gel contains 100% natural ingredients. Elders and children can also use this product safely. Hence, the product is not guaranteed for removing waterproof cosmetics and heavy makeups.
- This is for light makeup, like primer, sunscreen that isn’t waterproof, cc cream of one layer of foundation
- This is not for waterproof eyeliner or mascara because that kind of formula is hard to be removed. Also, it’s not for full coverage makeup like foundation, blushes, powder altogether.
