Q: WHY ARE YOU SO PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
A: “Like most people, I didn’t bother to question the safety of the skincare products I used…as long as they worked. My mindset changed in 2012 when one of my twin babies was diagnosed with severe atopic dermatitis, which is a chronic form of eczema. As a new mother, it absolutely tore me apart to see him experience painful reactions to so-called “gentle” cleansers and lotions. I tried everything available on the market—big brands, small brands, local brands, international brands—nothing worked and many actually made his condition worse.”
“As a result, I began educating myself and researching skin care ingredients. I was shocked by the widespread, casual use of unhealthy chemicals and preservatives in the industry and the harmful, potentially long-term effects on the body. I couldn’t go back to using products I couldn’t trust, on myself or on my kids, so I decided to make my own. I connected with Jimmy Wang, a respected chemist and organic advocate, to co-found Inna Organic. Our mission was to create skincare solutions potent and effective enough to satisfy me and my friends, yet gentle and safe enough for those with the most sensitive skin…even my babies.”
Q: WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FACE MASK AS ONE OF YOUR PRINCIPLE PRODUCTS?
A: “I’ve always loved face masks. As a busy mother, I appreciate them even more…it’s 5-10 minutes of aromatherapy and luxurious time to yourself. Afterwards, your skin looks refreshed and you feel renewed from the inside out. This idea of self-nurturing is at the heart of our brand. Also, I’m from Taiwan, which is a leading producer of sheet masks. While Taiwanese customers are incredibly discerning when it comes to masks, I could not find an organic one I liked that worked! To make ours, Jimmy and I tested and rejected over 100 types of material before finding the perfect organic cotton that adheres evenly so every inch of your skin can absorb the active ingredients. Inna Organic is the first brand in the world to apply organic acids to our masks. We also collaborate with aromatherapy experts to infuse our face masks with natural essential oil blends that stimulate the skin and the mind.”
Q: A LOT OF SKINCARE FROM ASIA, LIKE K BEAUTY, IS CHEAPLY PRICED. WHY PAY MORE?
A: “Inna Organic refuses to cut corners at the expense of performance. We pay a premium to obtain high-quality, ethically-sourced organic ingredients from around the globe—because they work. Yet we are committed to maintaining a reasonable price point. Inna Organic has earned a reputation in the Asia Pacific region as a natural, safe and effective brand. We’d rather be the most-trusted than the least expensive.”
